| "Positive: I loved the humanity of people there and their warmth. I felt like I was with friends or relatives with the staff. I enjoyed the friendly and natural ambiance in the shared kitchen with the opportunity to meet people easily. The music was really appreciable !" |

| After we arrived to Barcino147 B&B we were offered the best expresso coffee we had had in long time, especially after coming from France . The room we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous, having been recently painted in a dark elegant green. It had beautiful fabrics, oriental carpet, and wall paintings. Barcino147 bed and breakfast is on a corner, the intersection of two busy european typical streets, plenty of great boutiques and restaurants just in walking distance. We were on the sixth floor overlooking the famous Gran Via and carrer Roger de Lluria. The vintage building has been renovated with a fast digital new elevator. However, one of the best parts of the room was the beautiful, spacious, completely old fashion bathroom. It had a big tub, a splendid shower, and a large marble countertop with a big sink. Compared to the casual bathrooms that I'm used to encountering in most of the hotels and bed and breakfasts, this place was a pleasant surprise. Claudia, it |

| Great choice My boyfriend and I just got back from a trip to Barcelona and San Sebastian. We stayed in one of the apartments in the same building as Barcino 147. Ferran could not have been more helpful and friendly. The 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment was clean, roomy, and fitted with all the modern comforts - a/c, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer, flat screen tv, etc. We were allowed to go down for breakfast and to use the computer in the kitchen for the B & B even though we were technically not guests there. Ferran made restaurant recommendations, including a restaurant in Sitges which we tried when we left Barcelona. It was great! If I have the good fortune to go back to Barcelona, I will definitely try to stay at Barcino 147 again |

| What a treat to stay at Barcino 147. The owner was incredibly cordial upon our arrival. We came to Barcelona city central via the Air Bus and were pleased to find the bed and breakfast so centrally located to the Placa de Catalonia, just two short blocks away. The very convenient location made all of our journeys around the beautiful city very possible without ever having to take a taxi, though we did make one day trip on the metro located just one block away from the hotel. Exhausted from our travels, we were greeted with breakfast treats, juice and coffee. The b&b is decorated in a very unique, high-class style, and we felt safe and at ease throughout the trip. The staff was particularly helpful to help us plan our daily itineraries, and we always rested peacefully and did not want to go home! We have stayed at other b&b's around the world, and Barcino is by far the most delightful and charming of them all, besides very affordable! We're planning to return and of course to stay at Barcino again! |

| We stayed 6 nights. Ferran & his mates were most welcoming, professional and helpful throughout. An older building on busy street with p/t concierge. Lift access to apartment, where there are several bedrooms(either the ensuite or a shared bathroom - be sure to clarify what you want when you book) + shared FULL kitchen (breakfast provided & you can leave food/drinks in fridge, prepare tea/coffee anytime - useful if with kids). Has character and space - almost 'home away from home' in secure, personalised & convenient location not far from busy tourist areas (we happily walked to Sagrada Familia, Barri Gotic, Harbour, market (don't miss!) etc). Internet available. Spacious, comfortable rooms/beds with warm colours & Spanish prints/touches. Would happily recommend 147 for its friendly ambience & location. More intimate than a hotel; however, one can chose to mix with other guests or to be private. A great base for exploring Barcelona. Enjoy! |

| This B & B is fantastic! the owner (Ferran) welcomes you and gives you all the information about the city, even where to eat! rooms are clean, new and comfortable! B & B is at the center of Barcelona, near Plaza de Catalunya! when I return to Barcelona I will go to him |

| We stayed in Barcino for our last three nights in Barcelona. The place is exactly what the reviews suggest, beautiful and safe with phenomenal service. Although we didn't actually like the location (as we found it very touristy ) it was very close ot the metro and easy to walk back to the old quarter and el born which we preferred. The service... Mauro who met us when we arrived was extremely helpful and an example of how the service here is really beyond expectations... we checked out but were only leaving by train later in the evening. We were invited to leave our bags there but given a key to come back and have shower or use the bathroom if we needed. I've stayed in 6 star hotels who don't offer this. We also liked the way breakfast was accessed. Also worth noting is that the first night was noisy due to some young guests but after this was mentioned it didn't happen again. |

| My husband and I stayed at Barcino 147 on our first trip to Barcelona. Knowing nothing of the city, we were concerned that the location might be out of the way, and though the web site looked excellent, we were not sure what to expect. The B & B is exceptional. A very cost effective way to spend five days in a major European city. We stayed in the Picasso suite which had a very comfortable bed, huge marble bathroom en suite. Everyone on the staff was knowlegeable and very helpful. There was a full kitchen and breakfast included self-service cereal, bread, jam, eggs, and fruit as well as tea, coffee and a variety of juice. Transportation was a breeze with the excellent metro system and nice restaurants just steps away. Couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. |

| We had a wonderful stay here. From beginning to end, we were pampered, catered to by a host, who gave us tips on where to go for best food and best sights to see, and discover the hidden treasures of Barcelona. The rooms are nicely decorated with rich paintings and antiques. The shared kitchen is a hub for meeting other tenants to chat and exchange stories with over a cup of coffee or tea. Breakfast, fruit, and snacks are available at all times. The shared bathroom is always clean. The hotel is located at a walking distance from the vibrant Ramblas and Precios de Gracia avenues, the Barcelona cathedral, the Barrio Gothic, etc--which means an excellent location to all the main Barcelona fun places. |

| Short & sweet, this was without a doubt one of the finest, most enjoyable multi-night stays we have ever had anywhere in our lives. We stayed five nights and always felt like we were coming "home" to our own residence in the center of Barcelona. Everything about Ferran's B&B is beautiful and SAFE. The ambiance is altogether high class and yet extremely warm, comfortable and inviting. We never had a concern about security.
The existing TripAdvisor reviews praising Ferran prompted me to call to speak to him. He’s better than any words can describe. Not only did he help me with decisions re the right room for us in his B&B, he spoke with me multiple times on the phone before arrival and helped me formulate our entire vacation in Spain. After arrival in Barcelona, he greeted us personally at the B&B, drove us to the airport to get our rental car, recommended sights, tours, restaurants, wines and even driving routes to spectacular views and venues outside Barcelona. Thanks to Ferran, we never “missed” on anything we did or experienced while in Spain. He knows Spain inside and out, and is extremely generous in sharing his love for his country, its beauty, history, arts, culture and hidden secrets. In short, Ferran is a gem and can be counted on to give you a straightforward, honest deal. Take and follow his advice and you won’t go wrong. For example, his restaurant recommendations were PERFECT for what we wanted…several times, for different moods, meals and venues.
Finally, some of the reviews complain about the breakfast element of this Bed & Breakfast. Don’t stay at Ferran’s if you’re wanting or expecting a prepared sit-down breakfast every morning. Consider this, however: To really experience Spain, you will eat late dinners and arrive “home” late. We LOVED being able to sleep in and eat breakfast when WE wanted to…no demands to be up for breakfast or missing it and then feeling we had wasted our money. The kitchen is well stocked for any type of do-it-yourself breakfast you may want, and, in addition, everything we requested food-wise was on the counter or in the refrigerator later that day, including Kiwis, bananas, melon, yogurt, eggs…you name it, you got it.
You cannot go wrong with this choice. It is worth every penny, and you can rest assured that the building and apartments are safe. Just always keep your windows locked as is recommended all throughout Spain.
Our suggestion: Do as we did and stay at least five nights! It was the perfect introduction to this amazing city and Ferran’s Spain. |

| I recently stayed at Barcino 147 with two of my friends while on a multi-city trip through Europe. This hotel was BY FAR the nicest we stayed at.
Getting there: The hotel is in L'eixample area of Barcelona which is updated, clean, and somewhat pricey in some cases. From the train station, it takes about 15-20 minutes to get to Barcino and from the airport (I came in through the train and out through the airport) it took about 35 minutes or so. Cabs are plentiful in Barcelona and fairly inexpensive. They are very easy to catch from Barcino. The building the "hotel" is in -- really it is more of a set of nice rooms -- is very unassuming and there is a small gold sign by the door that says "Barcino B&B". If you see that, you're in the right place.
The "hotel": We arrived somewhat late at night and met with our host, Maurizio I believe was his name. He met us at the front of the hotel and led us up to the 6th floor where we were staying. From what I could gather, it seems like the building is likely split between the "hotel" and the condo apartments most likely. This is not a hotel in the conventional sense. Once we arrived, he showed us our room and our jaws dropped. It was lavish, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had a nice view of the street and fountain below. Our host showed us where everything was in the upstairs -- it was more of a shared living area with separate rooms. I do not know if all of the floors are like this. Our doors were frosted glass and could be locked. We were next to the kitchen and the main "entry" area where there was also free computer with internet access. I would have given the sleep quality a 5/5 but for the occasional noise we would hear from other guests in the kitchen. They have a large fridge with lots of snacks and good options for breakfast in the morning: eggs, toast, cereals, croissants, cheese, orange juice, milk, cappuccino, etc. Our host thoroughly explained what was around the area and how to get to the tourist attractions in Barcelona, which were all a pretty easy walk from the hotel.
The Room: Our room was very spacious with two large, and pretty comfortable beds. We had a great air conditioner, big screen TV, two dressers with mirrors, etc. We had a shared bathroom that was very clean with a big shower. There were two big windows in our room that overlooked the street (see picture) and the best part is that they had the shades where you could control the amount of sunlight in the room by keeping them open or completely blocking the light from entering in the morning/daytime!
Our host also gave us an excellent Tapas restaurant recommendation nearby the hotel that we tried -- Ciudad Condal. You must try this place. Their tapas range in price but are all extremely fresh and cooked/prepared to perfection. They have a very wide array of options, all delicious I'm sure!
The Barcino is only about an eight to ten minute walk to the Arc de Triomf, about a 15 minute walk to La Segrada Familia, and about a ten minute walk to Las Ramblas. |

| n the night of the 14. and 15. april 2011 we spent the night on B & B, Barcino and was received by the host Fernando, with open arms.
We spent the night in the largest room with a beautiful aristocratic décor and a completely refurnished bathroom. Everything was clean and nicely.
Barcino B & B is housed in two large distinguished apartments. There is a very large kitchen with everything you may request with respect to breakfast. You also have the opportunity to prepare other food in the kitchen.
The decoration is made with a very firm hand with great respect for past taste regarding interior design, including furniture, paintings, tapestries, etc.
A place which we clearly can recommend and which you must experience. |

| I loved staying at this quaint Bed and Breakfast. Not only was this place gorgeous, but the owner, Ferran, and manager, Alcirio, were wonderful and extremely helpful. My partner and I arrived a bit early and called Ferran, and he sent Alcirio to let us in straight away.
Stepping into a warm, open living room, we were shown to a spacious bedroom with a great view of the Grand Via. The room was more than we expected, with clean hardwood floors and a large flat screen television. After putting my clothes into the dresser in the bedroom, I explored the rest of the house. The kitchen had everything I could have asked for: an espresso maker and coffee maker; milk; juice; three kinds of cereal; biscuits; bread; jam; clean dishes. It was perfect.
I would recommend this place to couples; singles; and anyone who wants to stay in the conveniently located Eixample district. It's a hop, skip, and jump to Las Ramblas or to the Barri Gothic. It really was a great stay! |
